Ever since I have tried these delicious Parmesan crisps I have been addicted to them! I have eaten these years ago but have never attempted making them thinking that perhaps it's complicated. Ha! I was totally wrong!! A few days ago when we bought some parmesan cheese from the grocery I finally decided to make it at home. It was so easy!! Crazy easy!! How could I have not done this before?

So for the benefit of everyone else who loves parmesan crisps but never dared to make them, this is for you.

I love that not only is it great as a low-carb and gluten-free snack (perfect for hubby's diet!!) it is quite versatile and may be used as topping. It's great to add flavor to soup and when crumbled over salad! However you wish to use these crisps - they are guaranteed to be delicious!

How to make Parmesan Crisps

With only 1 ingredient and just a few minutes to make these Parmesan Crisps are the perfect low-carb snacks or crunchy topping for soups and salads! Gluten-free!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Measure a heaping tablespoon of the grated parmesan. Place in a parchment lined baking sheet or silicone baking sheet like a Silpat. Repeat until all the grated Parmesan is gone. Leave a space of at least 1/2 an inch between the parmesan mounds. Gently pat down or flatten the cheese - this is to ensure they are spread out a bit and not clumpy - the thinner - the crispier the result.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 4-6 minutes or until nicely golden and crisp. Cool and enjoy!
Yield: 8-10 pieces
Prep Time: 00 hrs. 05 mins.
Cook time: 00 hrs. 05 mins.
Total time: 10 mins.

Happy New Year!!! In just a few more hours we will officially welcome 2017!! I don't know about you, but I can honestly say, I can't wait for the new year to come. 2016 has been a really tough year for myself, personally, and for my entire family. We've had many challenges, some illnesses and yes, even the passing of a loved one. The great thing is, through all the trials and difficulties, we have felt God's love and mercy. So, we look forward to 2017 with much hope, knowing that no matter what, the Lord is with us!

Pear, Honey, Cheese and Caramelized Onion Sandwiches

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Rhode Island to check out the city of Newport, well-known for its lovely beaches and of course its mansions. It was holiday in Connecticut, the weather was warm and sunny so we took advantage and took a quick tour to our neighboring state. While there we had a quick stroll of the city center and had a tour of  "The Breakers" (Vanderbilt Mansion). We had a truly wonderful time.

Fig, Prosciutto and Arugula Sandwich Wrap

Fresh figs from California were on sale the other day so I grabbed myself a box. It's unbelievable but it was my first time to actually taste fresh figs. Oh, it was so sweet and delicious! How could I not have tried this before?  Actually, it's because I've never really noticed fresh figs being sold much in the grocery where we lived previously. Perhaps, I didn't look hard enough and that could be true or perhaps I usually just found the dried ones. Since we don't have these in the Philippines, I am truly not very familiar with it and have never used them for anything.

Hush Puppies

It is getting a little cooler in the morning now, I certainly feel that in the air. While I hate to say goodbye to summer, I welcome the cooler weather, too. I guess, after experiencing a heatwave in Europe while we were there this month, air conditioning and cooler weather in the US was very much a welcome relief! Indeed, it is when you travel that you realize how much you miss the comfort of home and certainly aircon!!! LOL. :)

Nutella Chocolate Chunk Cookies

By this time, if you follow our blog, you already know that we love Nutella. Not that we eat it on a daily basis, however, when we buy a big jar on occasion, I make sure that a portion of it is used or converted into something yummy! After all, who really can resist a recipe that has Nutella in it?
