Chocolate Dreams (Part 1)

Please note: To find the recipe, find the photo of the yummy sweet treat you are looking for and then click on the link underneath. That should lead you to the recipe. This is a collection of recipes from our blog and other amazing food bloggers.

By this time, if you are a regular follower of this blog, it has become obvious that we are addicted to chocolate. I am not much of a sweets person (hence there are more savory recipes than sweets here) but I make an exception when it comes to chocolate. Actually, it is my hubby who turned me into a chocoholic. He just loves chocolate especially the bittersweet variety.

When I was growing up, we hardly had any sweets after dinner. Perhaps only once a week were we allowed sweets. I don't think it was because times were hard (we're not rich but could certainly afford food) but it was just the way my parents were brought up - sweets were not always a part of the meal. If we had any sweets at all, they were always in the form of fruits, sometimes, handpicked from fruit trees that grew in our backyard or bought fresh from the market. With these we often had plenty. Any other baked sweets were a rarity in our household though my mom would bake us some bread and butter pudding on Fridays made from day-old bread left-overs from the school where my mom was a public school teacher. I remember those days when my Dad would announce that we were allowed to have Coke (family size) - often just on the weekends and for us that was already such a real treat. We considered that dessert! :)

Living in America, my kids are truly pampered as they have access to pretty much any dessert they want though we make sure they don't overdo it. I think I owe my good health to not eating many sweets while growing up. That is not to say you cannot indulge once in awhile 'cause you got to live, too and that's what my family strives to do - enjoy chocolate but, hopefully, always in moderation. Without further ado, here are some of the most amazing desserts on the web. Please enjoy in moderation. :)
