Travel Feature: Cambodia - Angkor Wat

For anyone consumed by wanderlust, I highly recommend a visit to Cambodia's Angkor Wat. After all, it consistently tops the list of must-see destinations in the world!

After we got married, one of the first books hubby purchased for us was "1,000 Places to See before You Die." I must admit, we both love to travel and that common interest is one of the key reasons why despite our huge difference in personality and culture we have such a strong bond. Of course, I am certain it will not be possible for us to visit all the places recommended in the book but whenever we visit a new country - we take a quick look at it and see the travel highlights it features. Certainly, if you visit Cambodia - this is the top priority - a visit to the Angkor Wat complex.

Hubby and I are huge chocoholics so you can be sure there's always some chocolate hidden somewhere in the fridge for that moment when we have an instant chocolate craving. Naturally, I often use chocolate as a main ingredient for dessert because I can be certain it will always be a hit just because there's chocolate in it. Certainly, that's the case in this delicious No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake.

I love my slow cooker as it's a very reliable ally in the kitchen. While I have used it for a variety of recipes including desserts my favorite dish to cook in my crock pot is a roast. I love the result of melt-in-your mouth tender meat that is so moist and full of flavor as a result of long hours of braising. It just has never failed me so far and my family is always delighted with the outcome.

That we love muffins in our house is an understatement! We absolutely crave muffins! My kids always beg me to make them and often remind me, "Mom, you haven't made muffins in a while." My little boy particularly loves them as every time his school asks for a volunteer to bring food for whatever school activity there is he is more than eager to sign me up. He beams every time he comes home from class and says, "Mom, everyone loved your muffins." This truly makes baking muffins fun and totally worthwhile. Just to see him smile and be proud of his mom is more than enough!

How To Caramelize Onions

Just a few ingredients are needed to turn a batch of onions into something delightfully rich, sweet and savory. Use caramelized onions as pizza topping, for sandwiches, salad, to jazz up appetizers and so much more! | manilaspoon.com

I love, love, love caramelized onions! Caramelized onions enhance the flavor of anything you add it to. I discovered this several years ago when I cooked a French-style fish dish which recommended caramelized onions as topping and after that I was hooked. It was so good. Thereafter, it was just a matter of experimenting here and there, adding it to sandwiches, pizzas and so much more. Naturally, when I make my favorite fish dish, you can be sure these sweet onions are always on the side. I love that my family enjoys its taste, too including even my little ones.

White Chocolate Cranberry Coffee Cake

Use fresh, frozen or dried cranberries to make this moist and delicious White Chocolate Cranberry Coffee Cake. Perfect to serve for tea time as well. | manilaspoon.com

The holidays are over! I feel quite sad as Christmas season is my favorite time of the year. Alas, it seems forever until the next one. Sigh. Thankfully, I still had some remnants of the holidays. A pack of cranberries, half a pack of white chocolate chips and a holiday bundt pan which went on sale so I had no choice but to buy it! That was my excuse anyway. So what does a girl do with these? Naturally, I thought about cake - a delicious sweet treat that I can enjoy with coffee.
