Wonton Soup

I am so glad that after several years, I made this truly tasty Wonton soup again today. It was just perfect for the arctic temperatures we have been having the past few days. I am equally delighted that even my kids enjoyed this and hubby especially loved it with rice. I tried it with rice the second time around and I fully understood now why he wanted to eat it this way. The rice soaks up the delicious broth and is so perfect to eat with the delicious wontons. Perhaps we will try it with some noodles next time. Hope this winter you will enjoy this comforting and flavorful soup. It will surely warm you up and make you feel so refreshingly good!

Yum Yum Dipping Sauce

One time, one of our page followers asked me if I had a recipe for Yum Yum Sauce. I must confess that at that time, I actually didn't know what she meant and had to google it (boy, am I thankful for the internet at times!). When I saw the recipe and its ingredients, I realized all my life I have been making something similar in the Philippines - a mayo-based sauce flavored with either tomato paste or ketchup and then sometimes sweetened with a little sugar or perhaps even some condensed milk. It is naturally used as a dipping sauce for fries (that's camote/sweet potato fries for us) and fried chicken and more commonly as a dressing or perhaps even as a marinade.

Cranberry Praline Bread

Moist, sweet-tangy, buttery, nutty - hints of deliciousness in every bite - Cranberry Praline Bread

Moist, sweet-tangy, buttery, nutty - hints of deliciousness in every bite PROMISE

So I still had some fresh cranberries left-over from the holiday season that's begging to be used. I didn't fancy making cookies nor cooking extra cranberry sauce. Then an idea struck me when I saw my Apple Praline Bread. Why not try the same recipe for Apples but use Cranberry instead? I know I had to make some adjustments as the cranberries are tart and not as sweet as the apples but with some minor tweaking the result was a truly moist and scrumptious bread, I dare say, as good as the Apple version! From now on this is how I will be making Cranberry Bread! Why haven't I thought of this earlier when there were more Cranberries. Oh well, better late than never!
