Blueberry, Pear and Mango Smoothie

In our family, we try to incorporate a lot of fruits in our diet, after all it's one of the best sources of nutrients particularly the much need anti-oxidants which berries, particularly, blueberries contain! Often, I find that the best way to encourage my kids to have their fruits is through a smoothie so I try whenever fruits are on sale to make a new smoothie once a week. These were the only fruits I had at this time but I thought it's still possible to combine them in a yummy smoothie.

So happy to have tried this combo for it wasn't just a great tasting smoothie - it produced a lovely color too - with a pinkish-purple-ish hue! Truly lovely and delicious! Enjoy!

Ingredients

1 ripe Pear (Anjou or Bosc or your favorite Pear), peeled, halved and cored
1 Mango, peeled and cut into chunks
1/2 cup frozen Blueberries
1/4 cup plain Yogurt (or to taste)
1 Tablespoon Honey or your favorite sweetener, to taste

Procedure

Place all the ingredients in the blender. Place the mango and pear at the bottom and then the blueberries and the rest on top. In my experience frozen fruits like bananas and blueberries tend to be more difficult to break down on their own without some liquid so I place the softer or non-frozen fruits first to make the blending easier. Process till smooth. This is just a single serving so add more fruits if you wish to share the smoothie! :-) Enjoy!
