Happy New Year!!! In just a few more hours we will officially welcome 2017!! I don't know about you, but I can honestly say, I can't wait for the new year to come. 2016 has been a really tough year for myself, personally, and for my entire family. We've had many challenges, some illnesses and yes, even the passing of a loved one. The great thing is, through all the trials and difficulties, we have felt God's love and mercy. So, we look forward to 2017 with much hope, knowing that no matter what, the Lord is with us!

Asian Beef Lettuce Wraps

Very tasty, quick and simple to make is this Thai inspired Asian Beef Lettuce Wraps. Perfect as appetizer or as main dish served with Jasmine rice.  Gluten-free and paleo-friendly, too.

Naturally, I love cooking Asian food as that's what I grew up with. I love that any typical Asian dish whether from the Philippines, China, Thailand or any other parts of Asia is not only loaded with tasty seasonings but offers delicious complexity - it can at once be sweet, spicy, tangy and salty. My taste buds are tickled indeed with all these nuanced yet harmonious flavors.

Pear, Honey, Cheese and Caramelized Onion Sandwiches

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Rhode Island to check out the city of Newport, well-known for its lovely beaches and of course its mansions. It was holiday in Connecticut, the weather was warm and sunny so we took advantage and took a quick tour to our neighboring state. While there we had a quick stroll of the city center and had a tour of  "The Breakers" (Vanderbilt Mansion). We had a truly wonderful time.

Soup and Bread Party - Recipe Round-up (Part 1)

We had another lovely Foodie Party today at Manila Spoon.  So many of our blogger friends have kindly shared their favorite Bread and Soup Recipes. Unfortunately, it was not possible to share all of them on Facebook for everyone to see. I didn't want our friends at Manila Spoon to miss any of these delicious recipes so I thought of once again writing a post solely focusing on the soup and bread treats shared to us. Since we had quite a record turn-out (yay!) I had to divide this blog posts in two parts so we don't need to scroll way down to see all of the links here. As always, I have posted each recipe in the order that I have received them. Thanks again to all of you who participated in our party!  Enjoy these lovely dishes!
