Every time our friend Samuel comes to the US for a visit he brings with him some delicious spices from his beloved country India!! One time he brought back with him nearly a kilo (2+ pounds) worth of authentic and homemade curry powder made by his mom. Wow! That was and still is, for me, the best curry powder ever, It was vibrant, spicy and made everything I add it to totally yummy! As a result, I have been cooking curry a lot and, as you can imagine, using it a lot, too. What I love about it is that it's so robust in flavor that even a mere teaspoon can truly do wonders to any dish that needs curry powder.

Several months ago, Mark, my husband, went to India. When he came back, not only did he bring back my favorite spices, he also surprisingly came with about a kilo (2.2 lbs) of whole cashews!! If you know me and my family, we are such nut lovers and cashews are one of our favorites. You can imagine how happy I was when he handed me a huge bag of cashews! I have already imagined the many dishes I would make with it! :)

Scrumptious Butter Cake

I usually have a few posts waiting to be published. I like to prepare ahead, when I can, so I don't panic when it's time to post a new recipe. Since we are off to Europe in less than 2 weeks I thought it's time to share this delicious and moist Butter Cake of German origin since we will be visiting Germany as part of our trip and it may help me get me into the mood. Truth is, I am panicking rather than feeling excited because there's still so much to do before we go but am also hopeful things will all get done on time! We shall see!!!
