Travel Feature: Savannah, Georgia

When you have a day to spare, here are some lovely places to visit in Savannah, Georgia!

We are on holiday this week so our usual food posts would be replaced by travel posts while we are gone which we occasionally do when we are away. We are sharing some clicks of the places we visited to give our readers some holiday ideas or let all of you travel vicariously with us, too. For this stop we are off to Savannah, Georgia. This is not by any means an exhaustive travel review of the place as our one day stay was short and sweet but just to give you a flavor of the place. Enjoy!

I have been to Savannah before about 12 years ago when I first visited with my cousins so I was excited to go back especially with my family.

First stop was the Whitefield Square named after George Whitefield, a renowned English open air preacher and evangelist and founder of the Bethesda Orphanage.

The houses around the square were built in the late Victorian or Queen Anne style and definitely lovely. There's a gazebo in the middle which is a favorite spot for weddings.

We walked a little bit more and stopped at the John Wesley Monument. We have visited John Wesley's church in London and it was great to see his influence in Savannah, Georgia, too.

Just a quick shot from another angle.

Sophie wanted a photo of her so Mommy obliged.

This Art Deco inspired theatre is also a film, music and dance performance venue.

When in Savannah, you got to stop for ice cream!!!

I love how they were looking at Sophie while she made a silly face for the camera! LOL.

The celebrity row! William and Sophie while eagerly awaiting for their ice cream!

William couldn't believe it!  As if he's saying, "This is all mine, right? :) If you ever visit Savannah, you got to buy ice cream here! It is one of the best we've ever tried!

Now, we had to walk off all the calories and went strolling along the River Street area.

Working out while eating is a good thing! :)

What a gorgeous sunset we had!

A visit to Savannah wouldn't be complete without a food trip to The Lady and Sons' restaurant! I must say it did not disappoint!

We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet that we came back another day!

Look at all that delicious food!

And that gooey Butter Cake is worth all the calories! ;)

We had such a lovely day and hope we'll be able to come back and spend a few more days to give justice to this lovely city! Until next time!!!
